Every sport has its own group of followers. Even if you feel that cricket is not a great game, those that are great fans and the teams would beg to differ with your opinion. Many teams compete each and every year to win the World Cup and it is a battle of which you may have never seen before. All of the teams train each and every day so that they can win the cup and become the champion of their chosen profession.

There are many teams from different countries that compete in this sport. Some of these would include Essex, Sussex, Yorkshire, Worcestershire, Bangladesh, England, India, Australia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nottinghamshire, [ad#post]Gloucestershire, Somerset, Durham, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies and South Africa. Of course there are other teams that compete as well and they play all over the world in the competitions. Although the World Cup in 2012 is a way off, you can look at how the teams are currently playing and how they have played in the past to get a good idea of who may be going to the world cup now and in the future. All it takes is a little bit of research to see who is going where.

If you take a close look at the teams which are competing, you will see that a few of them are in close running when it comes to wins. A few of the top teams that are in the lead as far as wins goes are Australia, Zimbabwe, England and New Zealand. In the lead for winning the most games at the point seems to be Australia. Coming in a strong second is Zimbabwe and then you have the follow up teams of New Zealand and England. There are a few other cricket teams that are following up and rising in the rankings. Although each team plays hard, they are all after the same thing. All teams want to win the World Cup each and every year.

Each win can be done by runs and innings or wickets. Of course, there is the occasional draw or withdraw. These will naturally have an effect on the standings of teams. You will also find that there are times that a game will be canceled or a team with not bat and withdrawal from a game. Each of these different types of games will have an effect on the kind of standing that a team will have in the rankings.

If you miss a game, you can go online and see the results of a game so that you can keep up on the standings and rankings of each and every team. This is a great way to be able to follow your favorite team and see where they are in the rankings. At the point and time, it appears that in the game of cricket, the World Cup 2012 could be looking great for Australia to be the winners in the end. But, anything can happen in the ranks.
